5 tips for easy interior maintenance
You probably spend many hours a week, or even a month, in the passenger compartment of your vehicle. Over time, did you know that without maintenance, viruses and other bacteria can build up inside?

It only takes a few minutes to freshen up your car, and it's good for your health too!

The hoover, the basis of all cleaning!

Whether it's for the floor, your carpets or even your seats, the hoover will always be your first ally! There are no special precautions to take when vacuuming the floor. But if you have carpets, it's more efficient to remove them and clean them separately, then vacuum and put them back.

Be careful when vacuuming your seats: don't use the same nozzle as the one used for the floor, as you risk staining or damaging the seats. Choose a precision nozzle to get into every nook and cranny, and be gentle so as not to damage your fabric or leather.

Farewell to dust

Once you've put your hoover away, it's time to tackle the dust, which often ends up on the dashboard furniture, central armrest or door handles and controls.

For plastics, Bardahl recommends its Plastic Interior Cleaner. Simply shake the aerosol, spray the product onto the areas to be treated and then wipe with a microfibre cloth. Bardahl Interior Plastics Cleaner gives a long-lasting satin finish, leaves an anti-static film and has a very pleasant fragrance.

For materials other than plastic, a slightly damp cloth or even a Bardahl dry microfibre will remove the dust.

How do I clean my fabric seats?

Once the seats have been vacuumed, it's time to clean them, or at least give them a little freshen-up. Bardahl Fabric Cleaner is perfect for the job: it removes stains and dirt, revives colours and is suitable for all fabrics, even carpets.

How do I use it? Nothing could be simpler: after shaking the product, simply spray it 20 cm from the surfaces to be treated and leave it to work for a few moments. Then all you have to do is scrub with a microfibre cloth or fabric brush, before leaving to dry.

How do I clean my leather seats?

For leather seats, it's best to use a microfibre with a little warm water or a special leather product. Be sure to use gentle strokes to avoid damaging the leather, as unintentional marks or scratches can quickly appear. The same applies to the steering wheel and gear knob, depending on their covering, but be careful with Alcantara, which deserves special care.

A final word of advice on leather seats: they wear down as you get in and out of the car. So try to minimise the impact of getting in and out, and beware of keys and other objects sticking out of your pockets! They can be fatal to your seats.

Purify your cabin with a single "push"

If you really want to improve the atmosphere in your car's cabin, we recommend the Anti-Odour Cabin Purifier. As well as destroying the bacterial proliferation that causes unpleasant odours, this purifier permanently eliminates dust mites, fungi and other viruses, while lightly perfuming your passenger compartment.

There's nothing complicated about using it, just start by doing a few things in the passenger compartment: close the windows; open all the air vents; start the engine; turn the air conditioning to OFF; medium ventilation; maximum cooling and recycling to ON. Then shake out the aerosol and place it in the cup holder on the centre console or on the floor on the passenger side. Push the button all the way down until it clicks, before getting out of the car and closing the doors. Leave the product to work for 15 minutes. Finally, before using your car again, remember to air the interior thoroughly.
