Cleaning the injectors

Carbon builds up over time and clogs your injectors! As a result, your engine's performance and power decrease, while increasing consumption! However, cleaning and degreasing injectors is within everyone's reach...
How does an injector work?
There are several types of injectors, but their roles are identical! The injector works like a pump bringing the fuel sprayed under pressure directly into the combustion chambers.
Currently, injections are managed electronically and professionals are equipped with equipment to read the flow values of each injector via an OBD diagnosis (connecting a computer to your car).
How and why does an injector get clogged?
There are many causes of injector obstruction. Fuel quality and combustion residues (carbon) create deposits and eventually clog the injectors, which reduces fuel flow and proper atomization of the fuel into your engine.
This is when the cycle of degradation of your engine really begins! The air/fuel ratio is more or less electronically compensated, but this alters the performance of your engine and increases the risk of fouling again. It is a never-ending cycle that can lead to the replacement of the injection system.
Why clean your injectors?
Maintaining your engine is essential to increase the life of your vehicle and, above all, reduce repair costs. But that's not all!
Cleaning your injectors with Bardahl products allows you to:
- Clean and protect the entire injection system (injectors, pump, valves, combustion chamber)
- Restore their flow
- Eliminate gaps in acceleration and unstable idling
- Restore engine performance (responsiveness, power and consumption, etc.)
- Limit excess fuel consumption
- Limit pollutant exhaust emissions and facilitate the passage of anti-pollution technical inspections
- Reduce engine noise thanks to its ultra-lubricating qualities
How do you know if your injectors need cleaning?
Prevention is always better than cure. With preventive use of our additives, you will avoid problems with clogged injectors. If you have not yet had this reflex, there are many symptoms that can alert you before breaking down. This is never serious at first, but the consequences can be expensive in repairs if you do not react:
- Loss of power
- Holes in acceleration
- Overconsumption
- Engine tremors
- Difficult start
How to clean and maintain injectors?
The estimated cost for replacing injectors varies from €450 to €2000 depending on the model.
In order to avoid the costs associated with replacing your injectors, there are 2 solutions:
1. A bottle to pour into your fuel tank
Our additives are easy to use, just add them to your tank either as a preventative or curative measure.
- If you drive in the city or only make short trips, clean every 5000 km or once a year with Bardahl injector cleaner (Diesel or petrol).
- You regularly drive on the motorway: clean every 10,000 km or once a year with Bardahl injector cleaner (Diesel or petrol).
- Consider driving in a lower gear from time to time. For example, drive at 120 km/h in 5th gear, instead of 6th, for 15 minutes.
2. Decarbonizing the injectors and engine
The most efficient and innovative process on the market for cleaning your injectors is Bardahl’s eco-engine cleaning!
With the largest network of professionals in the world in this field, our 3000 experts will decarbonize your engine to give it a new lease of life!
Where other hydrogen decarbonization methods attempt to clean all the organs of your engine by injecting a solution only into the intake, Bardahl treats each element independently for an optimal result!
Your injectors, intake, EGR valve, turbo and DPF are cleaned between 30 minutes and 2 hours.
Concrete and immediate results
- A reduction in your consumption and therefore an increase in autonomy.
- A reduction in the opacity of exhaust fumes and therefore a reduction in harmful emissions.
- A smoother, more dynamic ride.
- A return to original power and responsiveness.
