In over 80 years of existence, Bardahl has gained extensive experience in combating corrosion. This expertise is crucial when developing a penetrant.
The power of cold
In the Bardahl range, without Teflon (PTFE), you will find the Super Penetrating Lubricant (ref.1123) and the Cold Penetrant (ref.4901). The formulas of the two products are quite similar. The major difference lies in the propellant gas used in the aerosol: while the Super Penetrating Lubricant contains a classic butane/propane mix, the Cold Penetrant contains a refrigerant gas that creates a cryogenic shock at -50°C. This thermal shock helps to break the bonds of the oxidized contact points of the part to be freed. Therefore, the Bardahl Cold Penetrant (ref.4901) is mainly aimed at DIY enthusiasts dealing with extremely seized parts.
The best-seller
The Bardahl Lubricating Penetrant (ref.1123) is an essential product for both professionals and hobbyists. In addition to freeing parts bonded by rust or oxidation, its lubricating properties provide long-term protection by also eliminating noise and squeaks.
The Lubricating Penetrant and Cold Penetrant from Bardahl can be used in various situations: in automotive, motorcycle, garden, and boating workshops, in garages, or at home, to free and lubricate hinges, pivots, threads, bolts, nuts, and more.
As an interesting note, mechanics from the Sébastien Loeb Racing team save a lot of time using Bardahl’s Super Lubricating Penetrant for regular maintenance.
To clean and remove moisture
On the other hand, we have one of our multifunctional products, also available in the Industrial range: Bardahl BD50 (ref.3221).
It shares some characteristics with the other two products mentioned, such as its penetrating, lubricating, and protective properties. However, its slight oily film helps expel moisture and condensation, which can, although not its main function, help restore electrical contacts (starters, tools, etc.).
Additionally, it has a higher solvent content compared to the Lubricating Penetrant and Cold Penetrant, enhancing its detergent power to clean a wide range of residues (oils, greases, tar…) without leaving behind aggressive agents.
The orange/citrus scent of Bardahl BD50 eliminates unpleasant odors. Silicone-free, it can be used on all metals and alloys, as well as wood and plastics.
To reach hard-to-access areas, the BD50 is also available with a Cobra nozzle (ref.3221C), which allows for either wide and powerful spraying or fine and precise spraying.
