How can I increase my vehicle's range?
With Bardahl's eco-engine cleaning and some of our additives, your engine will become less fuel-hungry. But to cover even more miles, you can also try eco-driving.
Eco-driving is a technique that helps you consume less fuel and, therefore, emit less CO2. Even with an electric car, this technique can significantly extend the vehicle's range.

How to get started?

  • First, remember that braking is the enemy. Why? Because braking equates to wasting energy (fortunately, with an electric vehicle, some of that energy is recovered).
  • Here’s the explanation: behind the term eco-driving lies impeccable anticipation and maintaining a constant speed.
  • By anticipating, you can also handle the accelerator and brake pedals gently, which will help increase your vehicle's range.
  • Practically speaking, to anticipate the reactions of the vehicles ahead, don't follow too closely, as this may cause you to accelerate and brake constantly.
  • If you're approaching a traffic light, there's no need to keep your foot on the accelerator and brake at the last moment; instead, release the accelerator as early as possible, let the car benefit from its inertia, and try to brake at the optimal moment—ideally, without bringing the car to a complete stop.
  • When conditions allow, make use of the cruise control if you have it; this feature is your best friend for maintaining a constant speed and thus reducing fluctuations in fuel consumption.
  • If you are stopped for more than ten seconds and your vehicle is not equipped with a start/stop system, turn off your engine.
  • With a car equipped with a manual transmission, it's also important to shift to a higher gear early: around 1,750-2,000 rpm with a diesel engine and between 2,000 and 2,500 rpm with a gasoline engine.
  • The operation of the heating and air conditioning also impacts fuel consumption, especially in an electric vehicle.
  • You should also take this into account, as well as tire pressure, which helps optimize your fuel consumption.

Finally, as explained in the introduction, a well-maintained vehicle with a properly functioning engine is an essential factor in controlling fuel consumption.
