How to check your oil level in 3 steps?
Even though newer vehicles use less engine oil, it's always better to check the level because driving without oil can cause engine damage!

If you prefer to rely on the warning light on your dashboard, we would advise against waiting for it to alert you. Indeed, a motor that is not properly lubricated, even for a short period, can suffer irreversible damage.

Step 1

Open the hood using the appropriate lever located inside the cabin. The vehicle should be on a level surface and the engine cold to get an accurate reading of the oil level.

Step 2

Once the hood is open, locate the oil dipstick, remove it, and wipe the lower part with a clean cloth or tissue (to avoid introducing impurities and dust into the oil reservoir).

Step 3

Reinsert the dipstick fully into the reservoir and remove it again. You should now be able to observe the oil level. It should be between the maximum and minimum marks. The level should never be below the minimum, and you should also avoid exceeding the maximum level, as excessive oil pressure could damage the engine.
