Intake and valve cleaning - Engine decarbonization
Decarbonize your intake and valves.

From the first few kilometers of your vehicle, carbon builds up in the intake and on the valves. Depending on your driving habits, the performance of your engine decreases by increasing consumption and losing power! Degreasing and cleaning the intake, as well as the valves, is necessary to avoid mechanical problems and during the technical inspection.

What is the purpose of admission?

The intake serves to bring air directly to your engine, but it also recovers some of the exhaust gases via the EGR valve.

The valves are located on the upper part of the engine, directly linked to the intake.
Their role is to open and close according to the engine's explosion cycle.

How and why does the intake get clogged?

When you drive, the burnt gases come out through the exhaust valves and inevitably create carbon deposits. The same reaction occurs on the intake valves because of the EGR valve. Depending on your driving habits, this soot can prevent the valves from closing completely and therefore from sealing.

If you do not maintain your valves, this phenomenon causes a lack of sealing and a loss of power on Diesel and petrol vehicles.

Why clean your intake?

Maintaining your air intake and valves is essential to increase the lifespan of your vehicle and especially reduce repair costs. But that's not all!

Cleaning your intake and valves with Bardahl products allows you to:

  • Soften and remove carbon deposits that cause power loss
  • Decarbonize without dismantling the elements
  • Avoid replacing or sandblasting valves
  • Limiting excess fuel consumption and pollutant emissions
  • Increase engine efficiency through better diffusion of exhaust gases
  • Extend turbo life

How do you know if your intake needs cleaning?

Prevention is always better than cure. With preventive use of our additives, you will avoid problems with a clogged or dirty intake. If you have not yet had this reflex, there are many symptoms that can alert you before you break down. This is never serious at first, but the consequences can be expensive in repairs if you do not react:

  • Loss of power in all gears
  • Engine noises or knocking
  • Holes in acceleration
  • Overconsumption
  • Engine tremors
  • Difficult start

How to clean and maintain intake and valves?

The estimated cost for replacing valves varies from €1,000 to €4,000 depending on the model. In order to avoid the costs associated with replacing your valves, there are 2 solutions:

1. 5 in 1 Cleaner (Diesel and Gasoline)

Our engine decarbonization kit allows everyone to treat their intake in order to soften and eliminate accumulated carbon and soot. This kit can be used as a preventative measure.

2. Engine decarbonization by a professional

The most efficient and innovative process on the market for cleaning your intake is Bardahl’s eco-engine cleaning!

With the largest network of professionals in the world in this field, our 3000 experts will decarbonize your engine to give it a new lease of life!

Where other hydrogen decarbonization methods attempt to clean all the organs of your engine by injecting a solution only into the intake, Bardahl treats each element independently for an optimal result!

Your injectors, intake, EGR valve, turbo and FAP are cleaned between 30 minutes and 2 hours.

Concrete and immediate results

  • A reduction in your consumption and therefore an increase in autonomy.
  • A reduction in the opacity of exhaust fumes and therefore a reduction in harmful emissions.
  • A smoother, more dynamic ride.
  • A return to original power and responsiveness.
