Karting: our selection for pros and amateurs

This is how they shone at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, at the Monte Carlo Rally, in the sand of the Dakar, but also at the base of motor sport: karting.
2-stroke oil
During the 60s, during the first karting competitions, Bardahl was already shining in the paddocks and especially in the mechanics! This photo, taken on May 12, 1963, on which appears "Another victory thanks to BARDAHL", testifies to the high performance of Bardahl 2-stroke oil.
At the time, the required mixing rate was only 2%, which is half that of competing lubricants! This demonstrates the efficiency and expertise found in Bardahl oils. In 1973, Terry Fullerton – who, at the end of his career, was Ayrton Senna’s teammate (1978, 1979, 1980) – won the title of World Karting Champion with Bardahl colours.
KXT Kart Oil
Even today, thanks to its exclusive Polar Plus formula which provides an additional lubricating film further reducing friction, KXT Kart oil (ref.230039) is a reference for 2-stroke engines. It is also approved by the International Karting Commission of the International Automobile Federation (CIK-FIA).
XT4 10W60 oil
For 4-stroke engines, Bardahl recommends XT-4 Racing 10W60 oil (ref.347139) which maintains its viscosity even at high temperatures (150°C). It stands out for the Fullerene C60 molecules that compose it. These molecules behave like micro-ball bearings that, by interposing themselves between the metal surfaces of the engine, create a layer of anti-friction protection, allowing you to make the most of the engine's potential, preserving it from wear and corrosion.
The Racing treatment
If you drive a kart with a gearbox, Bardahl also offers you the right products: SAE 10W30 gearbox oil (ref. 402040) based on the Fullerene C60 molecule, as well as Racing Treatment (ref. 13105) which reduces wear, friction, noise and therefore improves gearbox performance. The maximum dosage of Gearbox Treatment is 10% of the gearbox housing capacity. For TAG and 125cc engines, you can also use ATF D3 gearbox oil (ref. 36281).
The Racing chain lub
For the chain, Bardahl recommends its Racing Lube (ref.2810) which resists high pressures and high temperatures, while repelling water and humidity. Ideally, apply Bardahl Racing Chain Lub the day before your riding session.
Used by champions
When current Mercedes Formula E factory driver Nyck de Vries became World Karting Champion in 2010, he also benefited from Bardahl’s expertise, particularly with the Clean Lubricant (alternative available today: PTFE Dry Lubricant). This product can, for example, effectively lubricate the rear axle bearings while keeping dust and dirt away.
When dismantling and reassembling the engine, you may well need the Bardahl universal sealant (ref. 2059). It is suitable for aluminium and metal, but also glass, ceramic, rubber, plastic and wood. The seal absorbs vibrations without difficulty and is resistant to temperatures between -50° and 260°C.
Buy universal joint paste
For cleaning and degreasing, nothing beats our Brake Cleaner (ref.4455) in aerosol form, which exerts very strong pressure to remove all residue. Oil, grease, tar, brake fluid and dust will not resist Bardahl Brake Cleaner!
