If your vehicle has not been serviced, be aware that every garage offers a "check-up" package before leaving on holiday. But there is nothing complicated to do yourself: you basically need to check the levels (oil, coolant, brake and windscreen washer fluid), the air conditioning, as well as the tyre pressure. Once installed in your car, never forget that luggage can be moving masses that can unbalance the vehicle. The heaviest objects will be placed at the bottom of the trunk to be closer to the center of gravity while the lightest objects will be closer to the rear. Also make sure to distribute the masses harmoniously between the left and the right. Do not forget to respect the maximum authorized mass (MMA) of your vehicle, especially if you use a roof box.
