What is the best procedure for winterizing my boat?

Fill the tank
- Fill the tank to 95% of its capacity to limit condensation inside. This prevents water from forming in the empty spaces due to humidity.
- In your case, the tank should hold about 200 L if that's its total volume. If that's already there, it might be a good idea to add a little fuel before the additive.
Add BARDAHL additive
Dosage: Refer to the instructions on the bottle to determine the appropriate amount of additive for 200 L of diesel. Most additives require approximately 1 L per 1,000 L, or approximately 200 mL for your volume.
Add the additive directly to the tank.
Additives such as Bardahl antibacterial and antihumidity will prevent the formation of bacteria, fungi, and will absorb water present in the diesel.
Homogenize the mixture
Run the engine for approximately 15 minutes to thoroughly mix the additive and fuel, and for the product to reach all parts of the fuel system (pump, injectors).
Change filters
Take this opportunity to replace your fuel filters if they haven't been done recently. This will help you start the next season with a clean track.
Engine and cooling system check:
Drain or flush the cooling system with boat-specific antifreeze if necessary.
Lubricate moving engine parts with our Engine Winterizing Spray to prevent corrosion during the winter.
Boat storage
Cover the boat properly to protect it from the elements.
Check that there is sufficient ventilation to avoid condensation in interior spaces.
Important points:
Check the fuel condition regularly if winter storage lasts more than 6 months.
If you need to add additive after already filling the tank, use a syringe to ensure accurate dosing.
Water dispersant can also be used just before restarting…
By following these steps, you will significantly reduce the risks associated with winterizing your boat, including problems with bacterial contamination and fuel aging.
